Ziel der ARGE ist es, die Haustechnik-Industrie optimal auf die BIM-Anforderungen vorzubereiten. Dazu zählen die Datenanlage in den vom Markt geforderten Formaten, die Datenverwaltung und die effiziente Datendistribution.

Die Produkte der ARGE-Mitglieder können im ARGE BIM-Marktplatz http://www.shk-branchenportal.de/shkportal/bim_portale.jsp und im ARGE BIM-Portal https://arge-bim.partcommunity.com/3d-cad-models/? in verschiedenen Darstellungsformen ohne Anmeldung angesehen und recherchiert werden. Das Portal stellt mehr als 40 verschiedenen Exportformate zum Download zur Verfügung.
